Hair care

Hair care

Maintaining the health and condition of the hair is an important aspect of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). In Sahih al Bukhari, it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “Whoever has hair, let him look after it properly.”

Wash the hair regularly.

As recorded in Al Bukhari, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to pour water three times on his blessed head, and then rub the hair gently but thoroughly to ensure the whole scalp and roots of the hair had been wetted. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) first perfumed his head with any beautiful scent which was available; taking it in his hands first he rubbed the right side of the head, then the left side, and finally the middle with the scent. That scent remained on him even after he had finished bathing (pbuh).

Studies have shown that the best frequency for washing the hair is after every couple of days. The use of a mild medicated shampoo is recommended and it is advised not to shampoo the hair more than once at each washing unless it is very soiled. A separate rinse with a hair conditioner is also beneficial as it adds softness and helps with combing.

Women who have very long hair which is always plaited must undo the plaits and wash the hair thoroughly after completing the menses. It is not permissible just to make the hair wet or just to wet the tips of the hair.

Care when combing wet hair.
Using a fine-toothed comb on wet hair can cause immense stress on the hair shaft when it is wet, which leads to breakage and hair loss. Use a wide-toothed de-tangling comb and spray in a little leave-in conditioner onto the hair. Never pull at the hair when combing it.

Massage the scalp regularly with hair oil.

Massaging gently and regularly (once a week or so) using the fingertips, with any one of the following oils is recommended for increasing circulation and blood-flow to the scalp, thus strengthening the hair roots and conditioning the hair shaft;

· Palm oil (the use of this oil is the Sunnah of the beloved Messenger of Allah (pbuh) who used to rub it into his hair and beard). Red palm oil can be found in Asian grocery stores.
· Sesame oil
· Jojoba oil
· Extra Virgin Olive Oil (particularly beneficial for slowing down the greying process)
· Coconut Oil (this oil needs to be warmed gently before application by standing the bottle in a bowl of hot water).

The hair oil should be applied for a minimum of one hour and a maximum of eight. Oils derived from petroleum should be avoided and wherever possible, organic sources of natural hair oils should be sought out.

Using Henna.

Chemical-based hair colourants and highlights cause great damage to the hair and leak harmful toxins into the blood stream through the pores in the scalp. Henna is a natural dark red dye made from the dried and crushed leaves of the Henna plant. 100% pure Henna is safe to use even by pregnant women. It has hair-strengthening properties and also helps cool down the scalp, reduce headache and migraine, slow down the greying of hair, heal flakiness/itchiness, remove dandruff and kill lice. The use of Henna was the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) who applied it to his blessed hair and beard.

Henna should be mixed with an acidic liquid like lemon juice until the mixture forms a thick paste. This should then be covered and left to sit for 24 hours before more lemon juice can be added to make the consistency easier to apply. Henna can be left on the hair for between 2 and 8 hours.

The stain of pure Henna is always dark red/orange in colour. So called ‘Black Henna’ or ‘Brown Henna’ should never be used as it is most certainly a composition of toxic chemicals which could cause a very serious allergic reaction.

Sleeping properly.

Good quality sleep relieves stress which has been linked to hair loss.

Kalonji & Za’fraan (Black seed with Saffron)

Kalonji & Za’fraan (Black seed with Saffron)
We have a habit of listening to hypothetical stories & we act upon them immediately, but we should try to explore the goodness of ISLAM & whatever is recommended by Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam.

Many people use Honey with Cinnamon, as the subject has been shared by hundreds & thousands.

The best alternative to promote is Honey with Black seed (Kalonji) & Za’afraan (Saffron).

Although Honey & Kalonji are available in every house, but many days & months just pass away & we never use these blessings, so it is necessary to make a beautiful blend & keep it at your side-table.

Kalonji as 300 grams
Za’fraan as 10 grams
Good quality Honey as 500 grams

Grind Kalonji & Za’fraan together, heat the honey at lowest flame for a while & mix the ground Kalonji+Za’fraan. And when you talk about Honey & Za’fraan, CHAANDI (Silver) is the 3rd essential. Add 30 Silver foils & mix again, you will have a beautiful paste, pour in a jar & wait till it cools down before closing the cover. (But silver foils are not compulsory & you may skip them, especially if you have some kidney issues).

Take a tablespoon at an empty stomach & wait for 2 hours for the breakfast, & a teaspoon after dinner.

And if you are unable to find Pure Saffron, make the blend with Za’fraan alternatives which are recommended by Ibn-e-Seena.

Kalonji as 300 grams
Qust-al-Bahri as 100 grams
Tajj Qalmi ~ Cassia OR ordinary Cinnamon as 50 grams
Honey as 600 grams

Within 2 weeks, you will observe a big change in your body, improvement & strength in immune system, digestion power going to its top mark, elimination of headache / Migraine, gaseous vapors, Hyperacidity, throat infections, runny nose, asthma, cough, Bronchitis, etc. The paste will help women with menstrual cramps, irregular monthly periods & Amenorrhea (not recommended during pregnancy).

Kalonji has a positive effect on liver diseases. One of its most obvious uses is for diarrhea and dysentery, combined with astringents. The seeds also are a rich source of sterols, especially beta-sitosterol, which is known to have anticarcinogenic activity. This substantiates its use for indurations and/or tumors of the abdomen, eyes and liver.

Kalonji seeds are combined with various purgatives to allay gripping and colic and also help kill and expel parasites. It is also used as a diuretic to relieve Ascites, for coughs, eye-sores, hydrophobia, jaundice, paralysis, piles and fever.

Saffron is used as a nervine sedative and for fevers, melancholia and enlargement of the liver. It also has stimulant, rejuvenative, expectorant, aphrodisiac, antispasmodic and stomachic properties.

It has an essential oil, the active ingredient of which is aphrodisiac in nature. Its aphrodisiac virtue is due to the slight stimulation of the central nervous system. It is also used in spasmodic cough and asthma and in catarrhal affections of children. It is also given in anaemia, chlorosis and seminal debility. It also strengthens the heart, brain and liver. Saffron induces menstruation, treats period pain and chronic uterine bleeding. Saffron contains a chemical called crocin, which has been determined to increase the oxygen content of the blood, which may in turn reduce plaque build up in arteries.

Ibn-e-Seena wrote that original Saffron releases the color slowly, so you will have to perform a Cold Water Test, put some Saffron in a glass & pour cold water, artificial Saffron (coated with colors) will release the redness immediately, while pure Saffron gives a pale color initially & turns to red slowly.

Health Benefits
The Watermelon has no fat or cholesterol and is an excellent source of vitamins A (notably through its concentration of beta-carotene), B6 and C and contains fibre and potassium.

The pink watermelon is also one of the largest sources of the carotenoid antioxidant, lycopene (lycopene is being studied for its ability to fight heart disease and some cancers) when comparing to other fruits and vegetables.
In addition, it also has amino acids, such as citrulline and arginine, which are said to be able to help in maintaining the arteries of the heart.

O L I V E S Benefits

O L I V E S Benefits

The history of olives is very ancient. According to scholar of Ahadiths, olives were the first things that was found on earth after the water level came down to the ground, after the remission of “Toofan-e-Nooh” {A clamity sent down to the nation of Prophet Noah (A.S) by Allah (SWT) when they crossed all the boundaries and their cruelty reached to the apex (as told in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem}.

Olives are very rich in vitamin E, a good source of iron,copper and a helpful dietary fibre. Olives go through a special process of refinning and cannot be eaten directly from the plants. It’s good for preventing heart diseases and gastrointestinal health problems. The refined olive oil is good for skin and hair.

Allah (SWT) has revealed (in Al`Quran) the benefits of olives and stresses the importance of Zaitoon (olives) on several occasions: (141-M-AlInaam-6), (99-K-AlInaam-6), (11-K-AlNahl-16), (AlNoor-35), (Moominoon).

In addition to that, Prophet (SAW) has also mentioned the benfits of olives in several Ahadiths.

Hazrat Sayyed Al-Ansari narrates that the Prophet (SAW) said “Eat the olive oil and massage it over your bodies since it is a holy (mubarak) tree.” {Tirmizi, Ibn Maja}.

At another place, Hazrath Abu Hurairah (t) narrates that the Prophet (SAW) stated, “ Eat the olive oil and apply it (locally), since there is cure for seventy diseases in it, one of them is Leprosy.” {Abu Naim}

We should be thankful to Allah (SWT) for all these blessings and must remember the beatiful verses of Surah Al`Rehman in which Allah (SWT) says that:

“Fa`bi Ay`i Ala i Rab`ikuma Tuka`ji Ban”

“And which of the favours of your Lord (SWT), that ye deny?”

Important: [Please do recite Al’Quran for the proper recitation of this beautiful Ayah]

Jabir used to say, “I have loved vinegar since I heard it from Allah’s Prophet”. And Talhah ibn Naf’a said, “I have loved vinegar since I heard it from Jabir.”
[Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i]

Dates are one of the most effective and “heavenly” fruit that Allah (SWT) blessed man-kind with! The importance and merit of dates has been mentioned more than 20 times in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem. The fruit is one of its own kind consuming which regularly can keep one away from food-poisoning, devils and charms.

Dates are very useful for a pregnant woman at the time of delivery as it makes it easy, comfortable and less painful. Allah (SWT) bountied Hazrat Maryam (AS) [Mary, The Virgin Mother], with dates at the time of birth of Prophet Jesus (AS) to make it easy and less painful.

Allah (SWT) says in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem, ” And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you.” (25) “So eat and drink and be glad, And if you see any human being, say: ‘Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allh ) so I shall not speak to any human being this day” {Surah Al-Maryam; Verses 25-26}

Allah (Az`o Wa`Jul) says at another place in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem, “Then We brought forth for you there with gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and where of you eat.” {Surah Al-Mukminah; Verse:19}

To clarify it more to the understanding of people Allah (SWT) revealed the worthiness of dates through “Hadith” by Prophet Muhammaed (SAW).

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him(SAW)) said, “Feed your pregnant wife with dates, because when the pregnant woman eat dates, she would surely to give birth to a baby who is patience, well behaved and intelligent.”

This practice of the Prophet, upon him be pieced, is recorded in the two genuine Hadiths collections of Bukhari and Muslim:

Abu Buradah reported from Abu Musa, who said: “I had a new-born baby; I took him to the Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, who called him Ibrahim. The Prophet chewed a date, then he took it and rubbed the inside of the baby’s mouth with it.”
